How to control an external ventilation system

Problem: You have a room ventilation system that is external to your kiln, and you want to turn it on when it is firing.

Solution: On the Genesis and DynaTrol controls there is a special output called "SAFETY". This is generally not used. The "SAFETY" output of the control turns on when the control is running a program and turns off when the program is finished.

You can wire this output to a 12-volt relay (like the standard 25-amp relays we use in most of our kilns). One leg of the 12-volt input goes to the "SAFETY" output and the other leg goes to GROUND which is on the Center Tap. Then you can use the contacts of the 25-amp relay to control your ventilation system.
