My original L&L (J2927) has provided outstanding service and reliability through out the firing of countless pots, tiles, udu drums, sculptures and two New York City MTA Subway Projects. It is still in service right next to the new one.

Glaze Handmade is the physical manifestation of one woman’s obsession with the craft of making pottery and specializes in functional and colorful pottery crafted by Lyndsay, who reinvented herself after running Meiklem Kiln Works, a community-based teaching studio, for 16 years. Largely self-taught, she is constantly experimenting with new styles, designs and glazes. The studio and retail shop allows customers to step into a working studio and watch her create.

The kiln is obviously an integral part of my process, I make the work and my kiln finishes it. My glazes articulate the forms. Over the past 15 years, I have fired, broken, and fixed just about every type of kiln there is. My L&L kilns have always handled anything I can throw at them. My current kiln has over 200 cone 14 (yes I said cone 14) firings with a 20 hour hold at high temps on them and still functions like new. There is absolutely no other kiln on the market that will handle the abuse I put into my kilns besides an L&L.
