Replacing Element Holders

When ordering a new holder provide model number of kiln and length of the element holder. See the Parts List for this information.

Replacing Thermocouples

  1. Unplug kiln.
  2. Remove or hinge open the control box.
  3. Remove the Thermocouple Lead Wire from the Thermocouple.

  1. Unplug the kiln.

Check transformer for proper operation

  1. Check voltage across the top center tap and either of the two top taps.

Check power cord

  1. Make sure power cord is plugged in.
  2. Reseat the plug. Pull it out of the receptacle and put it back it. This will reseat the connections.

The center of my kiln gets too hot compared to the top and bottom.

Assuming that the loading is even and the TC offsets are set equally, uneven temps in the kiln can be a simple programmable setting issue:

If a DaVinci is installed on a smooth floor and the lid is opened a lot, or left open for long periods of time, the weight of the lid will cause the counterbalance to want to lean forward.
